Our Erasmus project

 2017-2019

In this project 5 UNESCO schools will develop teaching materials and activities to be used in the schools for UNESCO projects and during exchanges. We will develop materials and activities on : Peace and Human Rights, Intercultural Learning, Citizenship, Sustainability and Cultural Heritage. The schools all have internationalisation described in their policy statements and are active partners in the UNESCO ASP network. We want to combine the UNESCO school membership and our interest in internationalisation. We want to do this by making materials and activities on UNESCO themes which are designed in such a way that they incorporate working together with foreign schools.

The aim is to incorporate the best practises of the schools in the materials and make a booklet with UNESCO materials and activities for the upper forms of general secondary education. We will also indicate how the materials can be used or adapted for use in the lower forms.

All UNESCO schools need teaching materials and activities for the upper forms. These are difficult to find and , if found, often are too easy for the older pupils. We want to develop challenging materials for the upper forms. Because we believe that many UNESCO themes have a link with international problems that need a European or worldwide solution we feel that it would be best if these projects were carried out together with other schools in Europe ( or outside Europe) to broaden the understanding of the students for the situation in other countries , especially with regard to issues such as Peace and Human Rights and sustainability. We also want to contribute to raising awareness for European problems such as the environment and social inclusion especially in connection with the influx of refugees in the EU and active citizenship of not only their own countries but also of Europe and the world at large. At the same time we want to develop a high level of skills and competences in our students through these materials and activities, such as language skills, digital skills, entrepreneurial skills, social skills and critical thinking in environmental and cultural contexts. These skills and competences will be of benefit for our students when it comes to their personal development as well as their educational development.
